Snow Tha Product Speaks On The Double Standards That Female Rappers Face, Project “Beauty And The Beast”
After her photo shoot for Dr.Jay’s Summer Sensations, Snow Tha Product did an interview with Da Vibe France out in the park in New York City. Snow Tha Product reveals details about her new mixtape “Beauty And The Beast,” she’s about to start working on her debut album, her thoughts on the double standards that female rappers face in the game and her favorite thing about being a rapper.
“I have a bunch of tracks on it, I have one of them called “Damn’t,” I really love that song. “Good Nights And Bad Mornings,” that’s another good song on their and I’m pretty much talking about normal things. Some songs are slow, there’s a little singing on there, there’s a little R&B and theres a lot of going hard and rapping fast,” Snow Tha Product said excitedly.
On the best thing about being a rapper : “That I get to do what I love. I don’t have to have a 9 to 5. Like, you know, I wake up and I really my success is determined by how hard I work and how much I want it and that’s it. I mean obviously there is other factors and you know it gets tough, but I wake up knowing that I’m lucky enough to be doing what I love to do and um I’m my own boss and that’s pretty tight.”
On the worst thing about being a rapper : “Probably like the hate or the double standards that women get in this game because guys get away with so much more then women do. Women are set this standard where like you have to look a certain way or act a certain way or talk a certain way or you can’t do this, you can’t do that. You get a lot more can’ts and know’s as a female I think than as a male. Males are just kinda like, they dominate it because they are aloud to do whatever the hell they want and it’s just perceived as cool, but um I definately think I’m adjusting to all that stuff and um you know I’m getting to do more of what I want to do and not really caring what people think and that’s helped me a lot.”
On what she represents as a female rapper : “Sometimes they judge me a little harder because oh well she’s willing to do this, why are you not and it’s like because I’m not like that you know, but I feel like I represent a different type of female, I feel like I represent girls that wanna make it because of there merits and there hard work and not necessarily because of the easy route which is sex or whatever.”
